Mark Jackson’s Under 23s side face Sunderland Under 23s at Thorp Arch on Monday afternoon (2pm).

The Whites return to action after seeing their top of the table clash with Wolves postponed last Monday. Today’s visitors have been out of action significantly longer, having not taken to the pitch since a 3-1 win against Norwich City on December 14th.

The length of time without a match has left Elliott Dickman’s side occupying 10th place in the league table, with four games in hand on second placed Stoke to rectify a six point gap.

Top scorer for the Black Cats is 21-year-old Mitchell Curry. The forward has netted seven times this season and following loan spells in previous years away from the Stadium of Light, he was rewarded with a Sky Bet League One debut in December.

Sam Greenwood is no stranger to the visitors, a team he played for during his younger days. The first fixture between the two sides this season ended in a 3-1 victory for the Whites, a 90 minutes in which Greenwood scored a hat-trick at the Academy of Light.

A win today for Leeds could see Jackson’s side extend the lead at the top of the table to 10 points over Stoke City in second place. Sunderland could move up four places to sixth with the three points.
