U21s Preview: Crystal Palace vs Leeds United

Whites back in PL2 action.

Sutton stadium

Leeds United Under-21s continue their Premier League 2 campaign on Monday evening with a trip to the capital to face Crystal Palace Under-21s.

The Whites have picked up two wins from their opening three matches this term, beginning with a 3-0 success over Aston Villa.

Following a disappointing result at the hands of Ipswich Town, Scott Gardner’s side bounced back with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Burnley at Turf Moor.

The Whites also impressed during the week on National League Cup duties, where a Harry Gray hat-trick inspired Leeds to a scintillating 3-1 win over Scunthorpe United in Lincolnshire.

The Whites sit 11th in the 29-team standings, though they have played one match more than 15th-place Palace who have taken four points from their opening two encounters.

The Eagles kicked off the new term with an impressive 3-2 triumph over fellow London outfit Tottenham away from home.

Zach Marsh claimed the match ball after netting three that afternoon but Palace were unable to break the deadlock as they were held to a goalless draw by West Bromwich Albion last time out.

The visit to the VBS Community Stadium will be sure to bring back fond memories for the Whites who memorably lifted the National League Cup there at the end of last season after beating Sutton United in the final.

Action from the capital gets underway at 7pm.
