Ruthless Leeds ran out 7-0 winners over Blackburn in the FA WNL this afternoon, with first half goals from Drew Greene and another Chloe Dixon brace, and second half finishes from Amy Woodruff, Darcie Greene, Alice Hughes and Monique Watson.

Simon Wood made two changes from his side against Wythenshawe last time out, bringing back Emily Cassidy and Drew Greene into the Starting XI, a decision which would be rewarded early on.

Leeds got off to a perfect start, as Drew Greene opened the scoring after only four minutes, latching onto a loose ball in the air following Woodruff’s saved shot that was parried into her direction, heading into the back of the net from close range.

The Whites almost doubled the lead instantly, as a great ball from Darcie Greene found its way to the back post where Ellie White was lurking, but her shot was scrambled off the line by the Blackburn 'keeper and the danger was cleared.

Woodruff then came close to doubling the score twice, narrowly clearing the target from a close angle and almost getting a toe on a fizzed cross to divert home, before Darcie Greene went down in the box under pressure, but appeals for a penalty have been waved away.

But it was Dixon who eventually found the back of the net, as Hughes did brilliantly to get away from two Blackburn midfielders, before playing an inch-perfect through ball to the feet of Dixon, who calmly slotted into the bottom corner.

Only nine minutes later, Alayna Millard skipped past her marker and to the byline before digging out a cross to the centre of the box, where Dixon came in crashing and fired the ball at the crossbar and into the back of the net.

Leeds started the second half just like the first, as Shauna Legge lofted a brilliant ball over the top to White, beating the offside trap and squaring for Woodruff to tap into an empty net and put the Whites four goals ahead.

Darcie Greene made it five for the Whites after some individual brilliance, meeting Dixon’s through ball and racing into the box, before cutting inside and finding the top right corner with a wonderful curling strike.

Hughes added a sixth as she rose highest from a corner and blasted a header into the back of the net, and super-sub Watson made is seven, as the ball was forced across the face of goal and to the back-post, where the midfielder was lurking to tap home.

The Whites managed to carve out a few half-chances as the clock ticked down, but were unable to find the back of the net again, and ran out seven nil winners against Blackburn.
