On Sunday afternoon, Leeds United Women put five goals past York City Ladies to continue their charge towards promotion, following goals from Amy Woodruff, Darcie Greene, Brittany Sanderson, and Sian Gibrill-Keating.
Speaking after the win in the FA WNL Division One North, Whites boss Simon Wood said: “It is pleasing because we knew the performances have been good, but the goals have not come, by getting those goals today hopefully that gives us confidence going into the last few games of the season.
“We would want more wins than what we have had, but only losing two games in the league season so far is good and we need to set those standards high for these last three games of the season.
“Everyone who came on the pitch contributed to seeing us over the line today and getting more goals in the performance. We have got a good squad, we have got a strong bench and we know that when players are called upon, they are going to represent the club in the right way.
“We have not lost many games of football, but we need to make sure we do enough to win a game of football and that is what the mindset will be this week in training.“
