The match officials for Leeds United’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Sheffield Wednesday have been confirmed, with Sam Allison set to take charge at Hillsborough.
A former midfielder in his playing career, the 43-year-old represented Swindon Town, Bristol City and AFC Bournemouth amongst other clubs before turning his attention to refereeing.
The Chippenham-born official was promoted to Sky Bet Championship duties at the start of the 2023/24 campaign and has gone on to officiate 12 matches in the division, handing out one red card.
Allison has been in the middle for two games involving the Whites. Firstly, he oversaw our 3-1 home victory over Swansea City in November, before taking charge of the memorable FA Cup Third Round win at Peterborough, which included a goal-of-the-season contender from Patrick Bamford.
It will be just the second time Allison has refereed a match involving Sheffield Wednesday, with the previous outing being a 1-0 win for the Owls away at Wycombe Wanderers last season.
Allison has taken charge of one Premier League match in his career, Boxing Day's clash between Sheffield United and Luton Town, and was last in action on Championship duties at the weekend as Cardiff City edged past rivals Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
