Leeds United are pleased to announce the launch of our United in Support campaign ahead of the Premier League fixture against Newcastle United on Monday evening, providing crucial support for fans on matchdays at Elland Road and people in our community throughout the season.
Coinciding with World Suicide Prevention Day on 10th September and working alongside the Premier League’s Together Against Suicide initiative, United in Support will aim to help as many supporters as possible who may be struggling with their mental health, reducing the stigma and raising awareness around suicide prevention.
Ahead of every home match of the 2026/27 season, we will now host a dedicated matchday hub located outside the Centenary Pavilion. This hub will act as a base for some of the incredible partners we will be collaborating with, whilst providing opportunities for supporters to access the help they may need.
There will be trained staff and volunteers that will work to create a safe space for fans, and they will be on hand to offer advice, have important conversations and signpost to the different mental health and wellbeing support that is available.
Some of the partners the club have linked up with include the Leeds United Foundation, Andy’s Man Club, Leeds Mind, Samaritans, Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service, Shout and No Guard Alone.
Robbie Evans, Leeds United’s Managing Director, said: “We are very proud to join the Premier League in support of the Together Against Suicide campaign and, for Leeds Supporters and Elland Road attendees in particular, the United in Support effort.
“This is, unfortunately, a matter of great personal importance to me, to other members of our board, and to many of our current and former players and staff who have lost loved ones, co-workers, and teammates to suicide.
“We know how hard it can be for people to share their hurt and ask for help, and how thoughts of self-harm can be hidden and afflict anyone, even those who you would least expect.
“United in Support is about making sure that every single person that we see on a matchday and across Leeds and Yorkshire knows that they are part of a community that cares for them and will be here for them. It is also about providing those who are struggling with access to specialised and trained resources, and with guidance on who might be most helpful or appropriate.
“Please join us in supporting this effort and taking care of our friends and neighbours, and if you yourself are having thoughts of self-harm please stop by for a chat.”
Support will not only be available on matchdays, but through our official charity and our various partners we will hopefully be able to help signpost people to help every day of the week. For more information on our partners and the various ways to reach out for support, please click here.
Leeds United have also created a new helpline to offer free and confidential support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all you need to do is text LUFC to 85258 and someone will be in touch.
