Leeds United Women midfielder Sarah Danby gave her views on the superb performance from herself, and her team, which saw them score five goals on home turf.

The Whites were in control from the outset against an FC United of Manchester side in good form, but couldn’t match the intensity from Dan O’Hearne’s side on the day.

“It was fantastic,” Danby explained, after the victory.

"We were all disappointed after Tuesday but we came into this match and produced a really professional performance.

“To score five goals, we couldn’t really ask for much more than that, so we are happy to have got the three points.

“At home, we want it to be somewhere that teams find it difficult to come and play, and so far we are doing that.

“We need to continue our form here, we seem to play well at home and we’ve done that again today.”

Having scored the third goal of the game and ultimately sealing the three points, Danby was please but now wants more from herself, as the team go for their ultimate goal.

She said: “It was my right foot… that’s all I will say!

“It’s my first goal from open play, which I have been desperate to get, so I am pleased to have got it and hopefully there is more to come.

“We’ve got everything around us here and promotion is what we want, but we’re just taking each game as it comes.

“I think we’re doing really well so far so we need to keep pushing forward and keep the momentum going.”
