It has been announced that former Leeds United owner and chairman Ken Bates has passed away at the age of 94.

Bates became owner of Leeds United in January 2005 and had an eight-and-a-half year tenure as chairman, until stepping down following the sale of the club to GFH Capital, in July 2013.

The thoughts of everyone at Leeds United are with the family, friends and former colleagues of Ken at this difficult time.
