Leeds United Women make their much-anticipated return to FA WNL Division One North action this weekend, as they travel north to face Norton & Stockton Ancients away from home.
The Whites are imperious form, having won their last six league matches in a run stretching back to September.
Last time out, and in front of nearly 5,000 fans cheering the team on at Elland Road, Simon Wood’s side put in a dominating performance to beat York City Ladies 3-0.
Amy Woodruff got the ball rolling for her side with a well-taken strike in the opening minutes, before Drew Greene and Darcie Greene added to the scoreline on a memorable afternoon in LS11.
Those results leave United level on points with leaders Cheadle Town, though Leeds can go top of the table this weekend should they win their game in hand against Norton.
The Teesside outfit sit sixth in the standings, having won three of their opening 10 matches and losing on five occasions.
In their most recent outing, Chris Burton’s side fell to a 5-2 defeat away at Chorley, despite a brace from forward Bianca Owens.
In the same fixture last campaign, the Whites ran out 1-0 winners thanks to striker Katie Astle’s first-half finish.
Action from the Norton Sports Complex gets underway at 2pm.
