Leeds United Women return to home FA WNL Division One North action this weekend, welcoming Chester-le-Street Town Ladies to Garforth.
The Whites are coming in off the back of a positive performance against Huddersfield Town Women, but fell to a cruel defeat after the visitors scored deep into the second half.
Leeds will be seeking to return to winning ways against Sunday's visitors, who were beaten 2-0 in the reverse fixture earlier this campaign, United's first away clash of the season. In that fixture, Alice Hughes opening the scoring within 10 minutes, before Kath Smith's penalty with five to go sealed the three points.
15 points separate the sides, as Simon Wood's side sit in third, two points off top-spot. Chester-le-Street, however, are placed ninth, three points adrift of the relegation zone.
Action from the Bannister Prentice Stadium gets underway at 2pm.
Rest in Peace Ella.
Everyone at Leeds United were devastated to hear of the passing of young supporter Ella Lynch, after an incredibly brave battle with cancer.
A hugely popular figure at Garforth on a matchday for the Women’s team, a valued member of the Leeds United Foundation’s Girls Shadow Squad and an incredibly inspirational human being, Ella will be deeply missed by all.
Ahead of this weekend’s FA WNL Division One North clash between Leeds United Women and Chester-le-Street Town, the teams will come together for a minute’s applause at Garforth and also wear black armbands in tribute.
