Leeds United face Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday evening, in their latest Sky Bet Championship clash on home turf.
The Whites return to Elland Road and will face their opponents under the lights, in this 7:45pm kick-off.
Daniel Farke’s side saw their six-match unbeaten streak ended at the weekend, losing away at Southampton in the lunchtime kick-off, going down 3-1, with Pascal Struijk pulling a goal back in the second half.
Last time out on home turf, Farke’s team put in a convincing display to beat Watford. With the game goalless at the break, Joel Piroe, Sam Byram and Jaidon Anthony all found the net in the second half to secure the points.
Queens Park Rangers come into the game having struggled in the early part of the season. The Hoops have lost five out of their opening nine matches, which currently has them in the relegation places.
However, Gareth Ainsworth’s side have shown resilience on the road of late, with four points and two clean sheets from their last two away trips, to Middlesbrough and Birmingham City.
Piroe continues to lead the scoring charts for the Whites in the league, on four. His fellow countryman Kenneth Paal will be a danger to keep an eye on for the opposition, coming into the game. The Dutch full-back loves to get forward and has scored three times already this season.
The last time these two faced one another in the Championship, there was one win each in the 2019/20 campaign. The R’s won at Loftus Road, after previously in the season the Whites took all three points at Elland Road.
A win in this one for either side would see significant movement up the table. QPR currently sit 22nd and could go as high as 14th, depending on goal difference. Leeds are 12th going into the match, and again depending on goal difference, have the opportunity to go as high as fourth.
