Leeds United take on Nottingham Forest at Elland Road on Tuesday evening, in game number 29 for each side in this Premier League campaign.

The Whites return to action under the lights in West Yorkshire having been away from home in their last two matches, a win at Wolves and a defeat to top of the league Arsenal.

Forest head north from the East Midlands looking to win their second game of the season away from home, with their only previous success on the road coming against Southampton in January.

The league table remains incredibly tight in the bottom half of the standings, with seven points separating nine teams as we enter into the final stretch. Just the one point is the gap between Leeds and Forest.

The last time the pairing met one another was in early February at the City Ground. The Reds that day claimed the three points after Brennan Johnson’s first half opener.

Johnson is a key player for Forest and will have to be watched closely again. The forward is on eight goals in his debut Premier League campaign. For Leeds, the top-scorer is still Rodrigo, he’s on double figures with 11.

With matches coming quickly for both teams, movement up the table could be significant for each side if they are able to claim three points from this encounter.

Javi Gracia’s side could go as high as 13th if they win, whilst Forest could go one better into 12th. Each of those outcomes is dependent on results and goal difference, elsewhere.

The last three league matches at Elland Road between the sides have ended in draws. This is the first home Premier League match between the two since April 1999.
