Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United side face Everton in the Premier League on Wednesday evening (7:30pm).

The Whites go into the match after an excellent 3-1 victory away at Leicester City. Goals from Stuart Dallas, Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison allowed Leeds to come from behind and secure back-to-back victories away from home.

Now back at Elland Road, United will be looking to return to winning ways when they run out on newly laid home turf. Defeat to Brighton came after successive home victories, a recent run of form that has seen the Whites propel themselves on to 29 points from 20 matches.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton will also be determined to get back to winning ways. The Toffees have only won once in their last four matches, but that victory - away at Wolverhampton - means they have tasted success in their last three away games.

The Premier League ‘away’ table has the Blues right at the top of the division, with six wins, one draw and just the two losses from their 9 matches. Ancelotti’s side will be arriving in West Yorkshire on Wednesday evening in a confident mood.

Leading the line for the Toffees is current England international, Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The striker has got 11 so far this term - 17 in all competitions - already eclipsing the 15 he got in the 2019/20 campaign.

Everton’s hitman has an abundance of talent behind him, providing the assists for his goals. James Rodriguez has been an instant hit at Goodison Park and has three assists, as well as four goals. Leading the way in the assists chart however, is former Barcelona player Lucas Digne with five.

A win for Leeds could see Bielsa’s side move into the top half of the table, whereas Everton - with their games in hand over the teams above them - could move as high as fifth.

The key battle

Patrick Bamford vs Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Back to the battle of the strikers.

Both forwards are on 11 so far for the season and generally speaking, are at the forefront of the chances and attacks for their teams.

Bamford has four assists to back up his goals, meaning he has not only shown his scoring capability but knows all-too-well about bringing teammates into play as well.

Calvert-Lewin has 11 in the Premier League, but a whopping 17 in all competitions. The England striker will be looking to capture his early season form, after only scoring once in his previous nine matches which came in the FA Cup victory over Sheffield Wednesday.
