Leeds United Women assistant manager, Mick Wood gave his thoughts to LUTV after the victory over Alnwick Town on Sunday afternoon.
The Whites’ assistant praised the number of chances his team are creating, but wants to see more of them converted.
“It was a bit of attack vs defence really,” Wood explained.
“In the first half we started off quite brightly and moved the ball well and created plenty of chances.
“It’s about conversion of chances again, we keep repeating ourselves week in week out really.
“For me, making the chances is the first point, but we really need to start converting them, we had enough to go in a couple of goals to the good in the first half.
“We got the points at the end of the day!”
Ahead of a double header of home matches this week, Wood was pleased to see the team bounce back with a victory and warned his side that opponents will raise their game, when they come up against Leeds.
He said: “There’s a lot of teams coming up against us and bringing their A game, so we will have to learn to deal with that.
“We’ve got three points and that’s what it is all about. It doesn’t matter how many you win by, if you get the three points that’s the main thing.
“We keep going over it and over it, but for me whilst we are making chances that is half the battle.
“Yes, we need to start chipping in with more goals but we are sure that will come eventually.
“We slipped up last week, so it gets us back on track for a big week ahead.”
