Mateusz Klich has spoken with the media after scoring an excellent goal against Burnley at Turf Moor, a game which his Leeds United side won comfortably.
A hard-fought first half saw the Whites go in with the lead, thanks to the Polish international scoring his fourth of the season, a goal which he felt was very important to the side.
“Burnley away is a very tough place and they are a difficult side to play against. We defended well and took our chances, so we won 4-0,” Klich explained.
“I think it was very important [on his first half goal]. When you score a goal just before half-time and go in with a 1-0 lead, then you have this in the back of your mind for the second half, it is good.
“We knew they would come on strong after half-time and they did, they were good in the first 10 minutes.
“We defended well and got even more chances because they had to open up.”
The Whites are on a run of just one defeat in nine matches, including some games against the Premier League’s top teams. Klich feels that the squad is getting stronger as the games continue.
“The last two seasons we have played more games than there is in the Premier League and we were fine,” he stated.
“People were saying we would burn out because we play at a high-intensity, but our squad is getting stronger.
“We’re almost back at full strength, people have come back from injury and it is a bigger squad now. We can still run, we are fine, it is not really fair when people say we will burn out.”
