Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has been nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month Award for May.

The Argentinian guided the Whites to ninth place in the club’s first season back in the Premier League, just three points behind Tottenham in the final European spot.

Following a tough April, the fixture list wasn't kind for Leeds United in May either, as Bielsa's side had to navigate five games in 23 days, facing the likes of Tottenham and Southampton.

After a loss to Brighton at the start of the month, Leeds rallied to win four games in a row, defeating Tottenham, Burnley, Southampton and West Brom, whilst scoring 12 goals and only conceding 4 along the way.

With a points tally of 59, Leeds also achieved the distinction of having the best total for a newly promoted side since the 2000/01 season.

This is the second month in a row that Marcelo has been nominated for the award, after narrowly missing out to Newcastle's Steve Bruce in April.

The Leeds United manager faces competition from Mikel Arteta (Arsenal), Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool) and David Moyes (West Ham) for May's award, with fans now able to vote via https://preml.ge/motmmay21.
