Leeds United forward Rodrigo has been nominated for the Premier League's Player of the Month award after a number of impressive displays during May.
Despite a season blighted by having to self isolate due to coronavirus, as well as picking up groin/muscle injuries, the Spanish international managed to make 26 appearances for the Whites, scoring 7 goals in the process.
The 30-year old returned from his most recent setback to feature in every game during May, grabbing four goals in the last five games, including strikes against Tottenham and West Brom.
However, it was his brace against Burnley that set fans' hearts racing, coming off the bench in the 58th minute to score two stunning goals, one of which became a late entry for the club's Goal of the Season.
The forward has played a pivotal role in Leeds' first season back in the Premier League, which ended with a fantastic ninth place finish, ahead of established sides such as Everton, Aston Villa and Newcastle.
Rodrigo is the fifth Leeds United player to be nominated for the Premier League's Player of the Month, after Stuart Dallas (April), Patrick Bamford (September), Raphinha (February) and Illan Meslier (March).
He faces strong competition for this month's award, with Gareth Bale (Tottenham), Alisson Becker (Liverpool), Christian Benteke (Crystal Palace), Sadio Mane (Liverpool), Nicolas Pepe (Arsenal), Aaron Ramsdale (Sheffield United) and Joe Willock (Newcastle) all in contention.
