Leeds United recently invited Lighthouse Futures Trust for a visit at Elland Road, receiving a tour of the facilities before doing a deep dive into the different careers on offer at the club.
Lighthouse Futures Trust are a local specialist college that helps young neurodivergent people to develop the skills and confidence to move into employment.
The Trust are currently undertaking a project called ‘Marching on Together’ which focuses on creating a meaningful and community friendly sports atmosphere.
As well as this, it allows interns to advocate for the neurodivergent community in Leeds, driving change in the city's employment sector, and increasing the sense of belonging in Leeds and workplaces in the city.
During the afternoon, the interns had a tour of the offices, the Leeds United Foundation workplace, hospitality areas and the retail store, speaking with various employees about the different departments and roles within the club.
The staff that delivered the tour were able to showcase how Leeds United runs behind the scenes whilst also giving some insight into the varied career opportunities.
