Sean Longstaff Celebration Bournemouth

Sean Longstaff has been voted Leeds United’s Hisense Player of the Match following his influential display in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

The midfielder produced a decisive performance at Elland Road, registering a goal and an assist as Leeds picked up a valuable point. Longstaff, 27, was directly involved in both of the Whites’ strikes, capping a busy display in the centre of the pitch.

Across the 90 minutes, the former Newcastle man recorded 70 touches and completed 36 passes, underlining his control in possession. He was also a constant supply line in midfield, delivering seven accurate crosses and creating two big chances.

Defensively, Longstaff contributed six tackles, three clearances and an interception, while also winning 10 duels. Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola later said Leeds were "a level above" in terms of intensity and physicality.

Supporters recognised his impact after the game, with Longstaff taking 51% of the vote. Gabriel Gudmundsson, who impressed with his energy and link-up play on the left, came second with 18%, while striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin earned 9% after another tireless display leading the line.
