This International Men’s Day, Leeds United are proud to support Andy’s Man Club’s 'The Men Who've Been There Too' campaign, focussing on loneliness and raising awareness through a series of photographed posters with different meanings.
Andy’s Man Club are a male suicide prevention charity that operates over 330 talking groups for men every Monday. The pioneers of the ‘It’s Okay to Talk’ campaign encourage men to talk openly about the problems that they face in life in a safe and judgement free space, free of charge.
Leeds United have a longstanding relationship with Andy’s Man Club, collaborating on several campaigns previously, including partnered fundraising events, warmup shirts for first team matchdays, and a charity football match.
Emma Laycock, Social Media Manager at Andy's Man Club, commented on this year’s campaign, saying: “For International Men’s Day, this year we’re focusing on loneliness with our Christmas campaign and this coincides with that.
“Each poster relates to where we’ve taken the photos and where we’re filming. We’ve done petrol stations, we’re going to be in the city centre, we’re here at Elland Road, and all the posters relate to what different men can be going through.
“They’re really important,” Emma added on the significance on campaigns like these. “They just show men that they’re not alone in their struggles and encourages men to open up and talk about what they’re going through.”
