The Leeds United Foundation are pleased to announce a new partnership with Fanatics and fintech charity, Pennies, to offer fans and customers the chance to support the ongoing work of the club’s official charity through a micro-donation initiative.
Fanatics recently joined the Foundation as a strategic partner, sponsoring their recent Supporting Our City Awards event, and this new initiative with Pennies reflects their commitment to supporting community engagement and driving positive social change in Leeds.
Supporters will be able to donate £1 on top of their purchases made in Leeds United stores to support the Leeds United Foundation’s charitable work, which will help fund the vital work they are doing across the city to support those who most need it.
The aim of this exciting new collaboration is to offer a simple yet incredibly impactful way for consumers to give back to the local community every time they shop in store. The Leeds United Foundation will also be able to report back at special landmarks to share how the donations are being used to help change people’s lives for the better.
Frances Milner, CEO at the Leeds United Foundation has spoken about the new link-up and said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Fanatics to launch our initiative with Pennies.
“These in-store donations we will be receiving from Leeds United supporters will help us to continue expanding our programmes and offerings, in turn helping to increase the number of opportunities for people in our city.”
Clare Dickinson, Senior Director of Football Partnerships at Fanatics, said: “Leeds United fans are among the most passionate in football, and this new partnership with Pennies offers them a simple yet powerful way to give back to the community they love every time they shop with the club. We’re incredibly proud to support the Leeds United Foundation in making a real difference across the city through this initiative and our wider partnership going forward.”
Pennies CEO Alison Hutchinson CBE, added: “We are really pleased to welcome Fanatics and the Leeds United Foundation to the Pennies’ micro-donation family, and know that supporters will be generous and appreciate being asked to contribute a few pennies to such a fantastic cause. We look forward to the months and years ahead making great contributions in communities.”
The Leeds United Foundation will make regular announcements throughout the partnership, to help keep all supporters informed on how the donations are helping to improve the lives of people around our city. Thank you to our loyal fanbase for your continued support.
