Leeds United Women can confirm the signing of Katie Ramsden, who has joined up with the first team after impressing throughout the academy age groups.

The 16-year-old has been putting in top displays for the Leeds United Regional Talent Club (RTC) and has now been rewarded by signing for Dan O’Hearne’s squad.

Ramsden is an exciting young winger, who can operate on both sides. Her talents have been further recognised internationally, having been called up to recent England Under-17 squads.

She will be available immediately for the Whites as they aim to continue their battle towards the top of the FA Women’s National League Division One North table.

After securing Ramsden’s signature for his side, O’Hearne gave his thoughts on the new arrival.

“Katie is only 16-years-old, but joins us in the first team whilst still playing for the RTC,” he explained.

“As well as playing for Leeds United Women, Katie is an England youth international player and is a fantastic prospect.

“She’s usually a right sided player who is quick, comfortable on the ball and strikes the ball with power and accuracy time after time, showing great consistency.

“We’ve seen her score some absolute top quality goals and her vision and link up play is outstanding for a player of her age.

“She has fitted in superbly with the squad and is very keen to get started with us, beginning with a Yorkshire derby against Barnsley.”
