Katie Ramsden has joined Leeds United Women after progressing throughout the age groups in the Regional Talent Centre (RTC).
The 16-year-old has impressed Dan O’Hearne and the rest of the coaching staff in the first team and has now gained recognition by being brought into the first team set up.
Ramsden is proud to represent the club she supports at first team level and she gave her thoughts after signing for the club.
“It’s an honour for me to join Leeds United Women,” Ramsden explained.
“I’ve been here for quite a few years now in the younger age groups, so to progress through into the first team is a dream come true.
“I never thought I would be here when I first joined Leeds. It feels like family here now - it feels normal to be here.
“I know a lot of the people and they’ve all helped me along the way with my journey. I think it’s a club that is one big family. Everyone is supportive and we all have each other’s backs.”
On the pitch, Ramsden is versatile with the ability to play in more than one position, and she has a desire to improve whilst with the Whites.
She said: “I can play right-wing, or right-back.
“I feel I am quite a quick player, I like to get up the pitch, dribble with the ball and also get some goals!
“Playing as one big team is great. As a young player, making my way into first team football is really big challenge for me.
“I now get to experience first team football, first-hand, and I can’t wait to get going. I want to progress as a player, be stronger and help the team any way I can."
