Leeds United defender James Justin has been named the club’s AMT Player of the Month for February, after supporters voted him the standout performer across the month.
The 28-year-old, who joined the Whites from Leicester City in the summer, featured in all five matches and played an important role as Leeds recorded two wins, two draws and one defeat in all competitions.
Justin topped the fan vote with 32%, finishing ahead of Anton Stach (13%), Gabriel Gudmundsson (11%) and Ethan Ampadu (8%).
His versatility at the back was evident throughout February, as he switched between right-back and centre-back while delivering consistent performances in the Leeds defence.
Across the five matches, Justin clocked up 477 minutes on the pitch and produced 48 defensive contributions, including six interceptions, 27 clearances and eight recoveries, while also winning 35 duels.
Comfortable in possession, the defender completed 127 passes and recorded 299 touches, helping the Whites progress play from the back. He also made 40 carries, covering a total distance of 289.5 metres with the ball.
One of the highlights of his month came in the 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest, where Justin provided the assist for Noah Okafor’s goal during an impressive attacking move.
The defender was also entrusted with the captain’s armband during Leeds’ FA Cup victory over Birmingham, underlining the leadership qualities he has shown since arriving at Elland Road.
Speaking after receiving the award, Justin said: “I’m really happy that I’ve been able to showcase what I can do to help the team and get us into the position we’re in.
“There are a lot of games left, a lot of important games, so hopefully we can stick it out until the end of the season.”
