Centre-half Tarik Muharemović has settled into life as a Leeds United player impressively, starring in the heart of defence as Daniel Farke’s side have remained unbeaten in the first three matches of the new Premier League campaign.

The 23-year-old’s stellar performances so far saw him voted the club’s Hero of the Month for August by supporters and aside from the midweek EFL Cup tie at Chelsea, he is delighted about how the first few weeks of the season have gone.

“I am absolutely happy with my performances, obviously,” the Bosnian international exclusively told Premier League Studios. “I know that I can do much more.

“I am training hard for it but all this is because of the help of my teammates, of the coaching staff and the whole club. So, I just want to give it my best. I am trying to give my best and I will continue in this.

“I like the tempo of the Premier League. I like how it goes. Even as a player, it is never boring. I like to be on the ball. I like to pass. I like to defend as well. It was always my dream to play in the Premier League because it is the best league in the world.

“A lot of very good defenders here at Leeds. We have amazing players, especially defenders as well. Everyone really deserves to play because I love these guys and I just want the best for everyone.

“Also, a big thanks to the whole team, to the coaching staff, especially to the players who have been with me from the first day to help me to adapt as fast as possible to the life in England. I am really happy.”

Looking ahead to Monday’s meeting with Newcastle United, Tarik added: “A hard game, like always. We have to be ready, especially after a game on Wednesday. We are preparing already for the next steps. We want these three points. We want to finish the last two home games in the best mode before the international break.

“So, yeah, full focus on that. We play at home so we want to win. Before the kick-off, how the fans sing, you feel the emotions, the love for the club. I think that is also a thing that gives us players such motivation to give something back to the people who live for this club.”
