Joe Rodon: An important point on the road

Defender speaks after draw.

Leeds United picked up a fine point on the road on Sunday afternoon, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin's goal securing a 1-1 draw with Brentford.

The forward's fourth goal in as many games ensured a point would be heading back to West Yorkshire, following the hosts breaking the deadlock in the 70th minute at the Gtech Community Stadium.

After the game, defender Joe Rodon spoke to BBC Leeds, saying: "I think it was an important point on the road, especially with our form away from home in recent weeks, so I thought it was important to carry on the momentum

"I thought the boys showed a great fight back again, and overall, happy with the point but I thought we could have taken all three tonight, to be honest.

"I think we know how physical they are as a team, especially how direct they are, so we kind of knew what we were going to be up against. I thought the whole back three had to be strong tonight, especially with their set pieces and their long throw-ins, I thought we dealt with most things that came our way.

"Like I said, we've got to show intensity and we've got to start fast. We're a very physical and strong team, so it's important that we set the tone. I thought, the second half tonight, we turned that around."
