Leeds United’s number one has given his views on the way the team are playing, after the recent clashes against Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United saw them come through with five points.
The most recent was against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side at Elland Road on Sunday, which saw the Whites extend their unbeaten run to six.
“For me, it’s a point gained, we win one point,” Meslier stated.
“Look, we arrive from the Championship - we play Manchester United, so it was not easy.
“But, it’s a good draw for me and the team too, we’re happy. The line-up was the same as in the Championship - just Diego Llorente! After it was the same players, so yeah, very happy.
“At the beginning of the season, we saw the fixtures and were like, ‘three hard games?! We need to have won a lot of points before!’
“We did this, but one win, two draws against them, we can be very happy! Now we have five games more to try to win the maximum, to finish as high as possible.”
The draw against Leeds United’s fierce rivals added another clean sheet to the goalkeeper’s impressive list, which now stands at 10. In doing so, he has become the youngest ever Premier League ‘keeper to reach that milestone.
“Before the game, I didn’t know this,” Meslier stated.
“It’s just after the game that I realised the clean sheet - someone told me the news, I didn’t know!
“So I’m happy, but I have to say thanks to the team - alone I can’t do anything, but the team help me so, thank you Leeds!”
On to Brighton this weekend, the Frenchman is well aware of the threat the home side will carry. He has maintained that the squad need to keep their focus ahead of the match against a team with plenty to fight for at the wrong end of the table.
Meslier said: “Yeah it’s not a good position for them, so we need to be focused because we can lose two or three-nil!
“We need to be focused to try and have the best performance, to try and win three points. It’s important for everybody to keep in a good positive mentality.
“It’s the sixth game we’re unbeaten and so of course we want to keep like this - why not until the end of the season?! That could be the target for me, I think.”
