Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier spoke exclusively to LUTV following Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Aston Villa.

The Whites battled with 10 men for the majority of the second half, following Luis Sinisterra’s 48th minute dismissal to secure a point.

Meslier was pleased with the resilience shown by the Whites, who still remain undefeated at Elland Road this season.

“I think it’s a good point,” said Meslier.

“When you play 45 minutes with a man less of course it is hard.

“There were a lot of fouls and it was a stop-start game, Aston Villa tried to cut the rhythm of the game and it was tough.

“After the first half we came back with good intensity for the second half, but with a man less it was difficult.

“Getting the clean sheet is a confidence boost for the team and now we are looking forward.

“I’m happy because I helped the team and it was good for me to make some good saves.”
