Noah Okafor Leeds Podcast Oct 26 Hand over mouth

From his special bond with his mum to the team-mate who makes him laugh the most, our latest podcast guest revealed plenty about life on and off the pitch.

Noah Okafor is making his mark at Leeds United, but how much do you know about the man behind the goals?

The forward joined Emma Jones, Stuart Dallas and Michael Bridges on The Official Leeds United Podcast to discuss his start at Elland Road, his journey through European football and the people who have helped shape his career. Here are five things we learned...

1. DCL makes him laugh the most 😂

When asked which Leeds United team-mate he enjoys sharing a laugh with, Okafor didn't hesitate.

"DCL," he replied.

The pair have developed a close relationship both on and off the pitch, regularly laughing together away from football as well as at Thorp Arch.

Okafor also revealed that Calvert-Lewin was delighted when he heard Leeds were interested in signing him, encouraging him to make the move.

"He was happy that I came. When he heard the news, he was saying, 'Please sign, please sign!'"

2. A special gift from his mum ❤️

One of the most touching moments came when Okafor discussed an item that holds special meaning for him.

His mum gave him a stone when he was younger, which he used to keep underneath his pillow while sleeping.

Although the stone is currently back in Switzerland, it remains an important reminder of their close relationship.

"I'm really happy with how my parents brought us up. They gave us a good foundation, and now they're happy seeing us develop."

3. Elland Road has the best atmosphere 🏟️

We already know how much the Leeds United supporters mean to the players, but Okafor was full of praise for the atmosphere at Elland Road.

"For me, this is the best atmosphere I've played in so far. Especially the night games are so special here," he said.

The forward explained that the supporters get behind the team whether a player scores a goal, makes a tackle or produces an important defensive action.

He particularly enjoys evening matches under the floodlights, describing them as something special.

Hearing the fans sing his name also gives him an extra boost.

Okafor praised supporters for continuing to back the team during difficult moments, explaining that sharing the celebrations when things go well makes those successes even more enjoyable.

4. A tattoo to remember his first Champions League goal ✍️

Playing in the UEFA Champions League was a dream for Okafor, who made sure to commemorate the moment he scored his first goal in the competition.

“I always dreamed to play at this stage,” he explained, reflecting on his journey in European football.

The forward revealed he had the date of his first Champions League goal, scored on 20 October 2021, tattooed on his body as a permanent reminder of the achievement.

“It was really special,” he added, discussing his experiences in the competition.

5. Scoring twice against Man Utd at Old Trafford! 🔥

Okafor has already enjoyed some memorable moments in his career, but scoring twice in Leeds United's 2-1 victory over Man Utd at Old Trafford is certainly one that stands out.

Reflecting on the significance of the result, the forward explained that it was only after the final whistle that he began to appreciate just how special the achievement was.

"After the game, people told me how long it had been since they had won there. Then I started to realise how big it was. It was everywhere, and the fans were singing," he recalled.

The stunning brace made Okafor a key figure in a famous Leeds United victory, giving him a memory that will live long in the minds of supporters.
