Ethan Ampadu: We stick by each other

Skipper spoke to LUTV.

Ampadu post Forest IV

Speaking after the full-time whistle at the City Ground, Ethan Ampadu was disappointed the Whites came away empty handed.

Despite taking the lead through Lukas Nmecha against Nottingham Forest, the hosts fought back to win 3-1, leaving the skipper frustrated with the result.

“We go again,” the Wales international said. “I said in the previous interview, whether we had won today or lost today, that is what we do. We stick by each other throughout.

“It is a long way to go. We don’t have to keep saying this. We know we have got to be a little bit sharper, a little bit brighter in some moments as a collective, and we are going to work on that.

“And as I said just before this, that five minutes, ten minutes after you just scored, you know, when the emotions are high, you have got to try and get that foot in the game again.

“You have got to try and be solid and we are disappointed with the goal. It is tough and then you give them another boost and the heads swing, you go from being on such a high.

“We go into every game wanting to win the game. Just a couple of moments where we can be better as a whole group. We can show how solid we are.

“We work every day to be so solid and together and organised, compact. There were a couple of moments where it wasn’t, so we could have stopped things prior to moments before they scored.

“I know I have said it over the last few weeks that we are learning a lot and lessons are being learned. We are confident that we are able to show that. The fans are always amazing and we need them as much as they need us.”
