After Amy Woodruff’s first half strike and Drew Greene’s conversion in added time, Leeds United Women defeated York City Ladies in the FA WNL Division One North on Wednesday evening.

Deep into stoppage time, debutant Sophie Bentley floated a cross towards the back post which was met by Drew Greene, who doubled the lead to seal three points for Simon Wood’s side.

Speaking to LUTV after the win, winger Drew Greene reflected on the victory: “Every game is going be important until the end of the season, it was a tough game today but we knew that if we kept going we would get that last goal.

“I always want to be on the score sheet, but as long as it helps the team and I am in the right positions. More important for me, is that I am performing well and helping the team.”

“She is a really nice girl," she commented on debutant and assist provider Sophie Bentley. "She has come on and contributed to the last goal. Every player is important, and she's quality.”

Looking ahead to Sunday’s clash with Durham: “Durham are a really good side. We know that every team in this league are going to be hard, but we have got to take each game as it comes. We know that it is going to be a tough challenge, but we are ready for it and hopefully we can come away with three points.
