Daniel Farke: We’ll be prepared

Manager previews our clash against Liverpool.

Farke v Chelsea

Leeds United will play their third game in seven days when they welcome current Premier League champions Liverpool to Elland Road on Saturday.

The 5:30pm kick-off in West Yorkshire will give the Whites a second chance this week to claim points under the lights, having impressively defeated Chelsea on Wednesday evening.

Speaking ahead of the match, Daniel Farke gave his thoughts on facing Arne Slot’s side. The manager reiterated that his team will need to be at their very best if they are to take anything from the game, despite the recent tough spell that the Reds are going through.

“They’re still a top-class side,” the boss began, sharing this thoughts on facing Liverpool on Saturday.

“They are the reigning champions and fully deserved, last season they were excellent.

“Over the course of 38 game days, you will have sometimes a period when the results don't go in your way, when you don't have your best performance.

“I think they had a really, really good start, especially in terms of results into the season. Yes, and a bit more challenging and a bit more difficult period.

“So each and every team will have also sometimes a period of three, four, five games when perhaps performance-wise, result-wise, it's not top class, but we still face a world-class side with world-class players.

“I have no doubt that we have to be, like in the last two games against also top-class sides, Man City, Chelsea, back at our very, very best.

“And also we need Elland Road at full voice and also at their very, very best to give ourselves a chance to make a tight game out of this and then also, hopefully to get a good result out of it.

“So, yeah, a tough week for us, but we're also in a good mood and we'll be prepared.”
