Leeds United will be looking to make it three wins in a row when they travel to face Bristol City in Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture.
Goals from Largie Ramazani and Brenden Aaronson saw the Whites prove too strong for Watford during the week, leaving the side third in the table.
Ahead of the match, manager Daniel Farke addressed the media at Thorp Arch, explaining the mindset in the camp at the minute.
“You never know how many points you will need at the end of the season, so the best solution is always to win as many as possible, and this is also what we are trying to do,” the boss told the press.
“For me, I have spoken about this several times, each and every game is important, and even in the starting period of the season it is important to bring yourself into a good position which is always priceless. That is what we are trying to do.
“And obviously also with a two-point average at the moment, we are pretty pleased. But there are also strong teams out there, some impressive results, and you never know who is really up there until it comes down to the crunch time period from game day 40 on, when it is April and May, so for that we are not addicted too much to have a look on the table.
“We are on a good way and for that we have to make sure that we deliver performances. That is also what we have done in the last few weeks and that is what we are trying to do going forward.”
Saturday’s fixture may also see new signing Josuha Guilavogui feature, after the free agent put pen to paper on a deal until the end of the season during the week.
“First of all, we are all pretty happy and pleased it was possible to bring him in,” Farke spoke of the French international.
“I spoke about the profile I wanted with the new signing in October. It is always a bit complicated, but yes Josh brings, first of all, quality on the positions where we need him.
“Naturally a holding midfielder, pretty physical player who is also pretty concentrated with good defensive skills, who has also played a lot in the centre-back role. He also adds a bit of experience to our side, we can definitely do a bit with experience in the dressing room.”
Ahead of the clash with the Robins, the manager provided an injury update on winger Ramazani, and also discussed replacing the suspended Junior Firpo for the clash at Ashton Gate.
“Sadly, bad news with Largie. He obviously twisted his ankle in the last game and we have assessed him. He doesn’t need surgery, but he will be out for four to six weeks. So best case scenario in the end of November, it depends a bit on how the rehab works.
“We have got Daniel James back and also Manor Solomon. They were both out for a few weeks, but it is at least good to have them also as options. We also have Joffy Gelhardt for the offensive positions as well, so we have a few options.
“We have obviously more or less two natural options at left-back, with Sam Byram and also Isaac Schmidt. We have also another training session this afternoon, but it is pretty likely that one of them will replace Junior.”
