Dan O’Hearne gave his thoughts after seeing his team lose 2-1 away at Chorley Women FC on Sunday afternoon.

Leeds went into the lead early on through a Sarah Danby penalty, but the hosts hit back to come from behind and take the points.

“It was a poor performance,” O’Hearne explained.

“We were second to the ball, our passing was poor, the ball control was poor, it’s just the basics really.

“We got an early penalty, then we’ve gone and given a penalty away.

“Their second goal, nobody has picked up the player up at the back post and she’s put it in the net, it’s not acceptable.

“Having said that, we created a lot of chances, but we haven’t taken them. We’ve got to take our chances if we want three points at a place like this.”

Next up for the Whites is another trip away from home, where they will face Alnwick Town next Sunday.

“It’ll be a tough game again next week absolutely,” O’Hearne stated.

“I’ll be down until we get back to training on Tuesday, but we’ll get the smile back on our faces at training and work hard like we have done all pre-season.

“Then all we can do is bounce back and try get another win.”
