A frustrating day at the office saw Leeds come out on the wrong side of a 2-1 scoreline away at Chorley on Sunday afternoon.

The Whites kicked off looking to make it two wins from two but it was the hosts who nearly broke the deadlock on six minutes as Katie Matthews picked up on a loose ball from Georgia Wattam only to shoot straight at the keeper.

The action quickly moved to the other end and Leeds took the lead after ten minutes when Rebecca Hunt was fouled in the area and Sarah Danby slotted in from 12 yards.

Abbie Brown then came close twice in quick succession, firstly seeing her low drive clawed out by Emma Bradley before then firing just over shortly after.

The same player then came within inches of making it two, but her low shot from the corner of the penalty area was finger tipped wide by Bradley.

Chorley were then on the attack with Matthews lobbing just wide, before Bradley again denied Brown.

The hosts levelled four minutes from the break through a spot kick from Hindle ensuring the sides went in at the interval all square.

Dan O’Hearne made two changes at the interval, with Laura Bartup and Sandra Soares-Martins entering the action, in place of Paige Williams and Kanisha-Mae Underdown.

It took a while for the second period to get going with very little in terms of chances, prior to Lisa Anderson firing wide just after the hour mark for the hosts.

Completing the turnaround to go in front, Chorley took the lead 23 minutes from time when Emma Hickson headed in a header from a free kick.

Leeds kept going with both Bartup and Brown being denied as the match entered its final stages, but they couldn’t get on level terms with the impressive Bradley being on form between the posts for Chorley.

The final whistle was blown and Chorley claimed the points, beginning their season with two wins from two matches.
