Bridie Hannon said there were too many players having an off-day, as her side were defeated away at Chorley Women FC.
Leeds scored first in the match but that was as good as it got, with the hosts replying twice to win the match.
“We went in 1-1 at half-time and came out second half thinking we could get the win,” Hannon stated after the game.
“It’s our own fault, we gave away a penalty and a silly free-kick on the edge of our box, then didn’t defend it.
“We deserved to lose today. We need to take this on the chin and go again next week.
“We’ve just been saying it’s a reality check. You’re allowed two or three of them in a season and we’ve now had our first one in week two.
“Fair play to their goalkeeper, she had a fantastic game. On another day we’d have scored three or four.
“But that’s no excuse, we need to be coming here and taking all three points. There were far too many of us today having an off-game.”
The Whites will now focus on bouncing back next weekend, when they have an opportunity to put things right against Alnwick Town.
Hannon said: “They will be a tough team and will be physical.
“We know on our day we can beat anyone. The way we train, the intensity, we’re a really good footballing team but we didn’t show that today.
“We need a good week in training this week, we can’t have a performance like that again.”
