Speaking to LUTV after the match, Dan O’Hearne was delighted with his side who got their third win in a week by beating Liverpool Feds at home on Sunday.

The manager praised the way the team bounced back after defeat to Chorley and is now looking for them to keep that run going after going top of the table.

“If we’re top in May next year, that’s when it matters!” O’Hearne explained.

“We won’t get ahead of ourselves, we’ll keep grounded and keep trying to work hard, looking to pick three points up.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better response after losing at Chorley. Three wins, three clean sheets, nine points, long may it continue.

“Overall today I thought we deserved to win, but it wasn’t the best game to be honest.”

The Whites have kept four clean sheets from their five matches and the manager had special praise for his defence, as well as stating the importance of using the full squad.

“We’ve only conceded a penalty and a set-piece in our five games,” O’Hearne stated.

“I thought Bridie [Hannon] was outstanding today, especially. As a whole, all the players just look so solid at the back and well organised, so we need to carry that forward into the rest of the season.

“We’ve got a lot of talent in the squad now so when we make changes it doesn’t weaken us.

“Abbie [Brown] has come on and scored, she’s a great player, we have a lot of good players here.”
