Dan O’Hearne has reflected on the recent defeat to Chorley, whilst then looking ahead to the trip north to face Alnwick Town Ladies on Sunday.

The Leeds United Women's manager went into detail on some of the schedule that his side have been going through in training this week.

“We had a bit of fun on Tuesday to start with, then got back into it properly,” O’Hearne explained.

“Everyone was a bit down after the loss at the weekend, but once we got back together our focus just switched to looking forward and being positive for the game this weekend.

“We conceded a penalty and a set-play which lost us the game, so we have been doing a bit of work in training on that.

“We did some finishing practice last week and then missed plenty of chances, so we’ve been doing a bit more on that, too!”

One of the longer trips for the Whites this season will see them travel a few hours north, taking on the new league comers for this year.

“They are new into our league this season,” O’Hearne stated, previewing the clash.

“We played them a couple of years ago in the FA Cup, away from home, we beat them 3-2 in extra-time.

“It was certainly not an easy ride that day and I don’t think it will be on Sunday either.

“They’ve had a few heavy defeats recently so they will be looking to bounce back for sure, but it’s about us going there, being ready and getting three points.

“It’s down the players on Sunday to go out there and do the job. We can’t put the ball in the net for them, and that’s what has been lacking of late.

“We scored so many goals in pre-season so it has been frustrating to miss chance after chance. We want to see a professional performance and take three points for the long journey home.”
