Leeds United travel away from home on Sunday lunchtime, taking on Burnley in their third Premier League match of the season (2pm).
The Whites will arrive at Turf Moor looking for their first win of the 2021/22 campaign, having lost on the opening day before taking a point away from an entertaining draw with Everton last weekend.
The hosts will be looking to do the same, after they have lost their opening two matches. Defeat at home to Brighton & Hove Albion was then followed up with a tough trip to Anfield, losing to Liverpool.
Last season, Leeds won both encounters between the two on the way to a top half finish in the table. Patrick Bamford’s early penalty settled maters at Elland Road, whilst Mateusz Klich, Jack Harrison and a Rodrigo double secured an excellent three points at Turf Moor. Prior to that, the Clarets had won the previous three meetings between the two on their own ground.
Likely to be in the starting line-up for Burnley on Sunday will be former Leeds players, Charlie Taylor and Chris Wood. The pairing have played a huge part in Burnley’s success over recent years and will have to be watched closely at both ends from kick-off.
Leeds are still yet to draw an away match in the Premier League under Marcelo Bielsa’s guidance. From 20 matches on the road, the Whites have won 10 and lost 10.
