Amy Woodruff: We will let our football do the talking

Amy Woodruff arrival vs Doncaster

Leeds United Women return to FA WNL Division One North away action as they make the trip to York City Ladies on Sunday afternoon, only a little over a week on from the two sides' last meeting.

Ahead of the game, Amy Woodruff has spoken to leedsunited.com. She said: "We've had high focus in training on putting things right. We have fire in our belly.

"We didn't get the result we had wanted or deserved on Sunday, but sometimes that's football, we can't talk about it for too long, we have to move on. All this frustration is an opportunity to put it right on Sunday."

On the opposition: "We know what they're like, we know the formations they play, their weaknesses and strengths, and we just need to counteract them.

"We're expecting York to put up a fight, they're fighting at the bottom and we are fighting at the top and they'll not make it easy.

"They'll make it a difficult game but we need to remain focussed, not rise to that, and just let out football do the talking.

"Winning on Sunday is the beginning of winning the rest of the season," Woodruff added on the final four league fixtures remaining. "Get three points each and every week and see how the table ends up at the end of the season.

"We've played all the teams that are competing at the top, so all we can do is stay focussed on us, which is what we have been doing, get the three points and not let performances drop."
