PRE-SEASON: BERARDI FEELING GOOD

PRE-SEASON: BERARDI FEELING GOOD

Full-back discusses the tour so far and the Frankfurt game...

Gaetano Berardi is ‘feeling good’ for the new campaign with United after being put through his paces during the pre-season tour.

The full-back is part of Uwe Rosler’s squad currently out in Austria, where the players have often undertaken double training sessions as they get up to speed for 2015/16.

"We work hard every day in training but I feel good," he said.

"I feel good in the team and it was a good season for me."

Alongside Liam Cooper and Scott Wootton, Berardi was one of three players who completed the full 90 minutes of Tuesday’s 2-1 friendly defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Speaking after the meeting in Eugendorf, the 26-year-old said: "It was a good game – they played very well and had a lot of the ball.

"That made it difficult but it was a good game.

"I think we have to do better – the coach knows this. But we are in a good way.

"The conditions made it very hard, but that was for us and for Frankfurt.

"It’s important to play in these matches and we have to look forward."
