SQUAD TO BE ASSESSED FOR WIGAN

Team news ahead of Wigan away...

Neil Redfearn says he will be cautious of keeping his squad "intact" during the closing months of the season as he assesses its shape for the trip to Wigan.

Midfielder Rodolph Austin is ruled with a thigh strain picked up in the defeat to Watford, while Steve Morison is pushing for a return to the starting line-up after returning to bench for the midweek victory over Ipswich Town.

Morison came on as an 86th minute substitute for goalscorer Billy Sharp, who is also being monitored after picking up a knock late into the Elland Road victory.

"We’ve got make sure that we’ve got the squad intact to get from now until the end of the season," Redfearn said ahead of his side’s visit to the DW Stadium.

"We’ve got a lot of games still to go. We’re going to have a couple of weeks where we have two games a week and the Easter period of three games.

"It’s going to be tough and we have to make sure that we look after the boys who have got any problems, any knocks or bumps.

"We might have to change it round a little bit at times but it gives people an opportunity.

"At this moment in time, everybody is really up for it and they all want to do well."

Redfearn is hoping that Sharp will be fit for the DW Stadium trip after the striker made it two goals in as many games with the winner on Wednesday night.

"It’s a good ratio," said the head coach. "He’s done it the right away around and he’s done his talking on the pitch.

"His attitude in training has been first class. He’s the same every day, he works hard and wants to do better.

"He’s a good pro and I think he’s applied himself really well in the last couple of games. He’s been a big, big plus for us."
