SQUAD REMAINS FOCUSED - REDFEARN

Business as usual for head coach and his squad...

United head coach Neil Redfearn insists his side have been unaffected by off-the-field issues this week and are focused on returning to action against Ipswich Town on Saturday (3pm).

United travel to Portman Road on the back of an impressive home victory over league leaders Derby and are now looking to make it back-to-back Championship wins for only the second time this season.

News in the week leading up to the game has been dominated by reports away from the footballing side of the club, but Redfearn says it has been business as usual for him and the squad in their pre-match preparations.

"People are aware of what’s happening through the press and media but I think we just need to get on with it. That’s what we’ve got to do," he said.

"I think it’ll get sorted out, that’s been the message from the club – it’s going to get resolved.

"We just get on with it, we work hard in training. We make sure the lads are focused and we’re planning in the right way towards the next game which is Ipswich.

"I think it’s important that they stay focused, that training is enjoyable through the week and they look forward to coming in and working.

"They know that at the end of the week they can go and compete and genuinely fight for points.

"That is the process that we’re going through at this moment."

Redfearn was also pleased with what he has seen on the training pitch during the week and believes his squad are raring to take on second-placed Ipswich.

"It’s been bubbly and bright, they’ve enjoyed their training," he said. "They’ve worked really hard again this week.

"We’re really focused on what we need to do on Saturday and we’re really looking forward to the game."
