TEAM NEWS: MURPHY AN OPTION FOR UWE

Uwe Rosler says the midfielder may be involved at Doncaster...

Luke Murphy could feature in Thursday night’s trip to Doncaster Rovers after returning from injury, with Uwe Rosler describing the Capital One Cup tie as "a great opportunity to have him involved".

Murphy, who missed all five of United’s pre-season friendlies with a knee problem, returned to action for the Under-21s on Monday evening, completing 60 minutes of their league opener with Ipswich at Elland Road.

And the midfielder could now return to the first-team fold at the Keepmoat Stadium after impressing Rosler and having come through unscathed from his appearance with United’s development team.

“We have more or less a fit squad,” said Rosler. “Luke Murphy is coming back and will be another option for us.

“Thursday will be a great opportunity to have him involved at some stage.

“He came through his first outing – 60 minutes. I was very happy with what I saw, there were no problems afterwards.

“He trained yesterday and again today and he will be another option at some stage of the game to be involved.”

Rosler also confirmed that recent signing Stuart Dallas will keep his place in the team for Thursday’s tie after an impressive debut at the weekend against Burnley.

“I can confirm that Stuart Dallas will start because he needs more matches,” the head coach explained.

“He’s in good form, like our supporters have seen and for him to start is a good opportunity for us.”
