INJURY DOUBTS FOR UNITED

Duo doubtful for Wednesday's Elland Road clash...

United boss Brian McDermott has a few injury doubts ahead of Wednesday’s Elland Road clash with Wigan Athletic (7.45pm).

While Dexter Blackstock has undergone a scan on a knee injury, Tom Lees and Ross McCormack are also on the potential absentee list.

“There’s a few with bumps and bruises,” said the boss. “Dexter isn’t available, Tom has a knock on his knee, and we’ll see how he is.

“Ross got a nasty bruise on his hip which restricted him during Saturday’s game so we’ll see how he is as well. You expect these things at this stage of the season.”

Better news is that Adam Drury completed 90 minutes in the Development Squad on Monday as he returns after a calf injury, while Scott Wootton is also making good progress, following the ankle injury sustained at Charlton.

Noel Hunt is also edging closer after being sidelined with a hamstring injury.

“Noel is progressing,” confirmed the boss. “He’s had an injection. It was quite nasty, and we’re hoping he comes back fine.”
