DEFENSIVE DUO TO RETURN?

Early team news ahead of Doncaster trip…

United manager Brian McDermott is hoping for a fitness boost ahead of Saturday’s trip to Doncaster after Scoot Wootton and Tom Lees returned to training.

Scott, who made his United debut against Doncaster in the Capital One Cup, returned to training this week following an ankle injury sustained at Charlton and Tom missed Saturday’s clash with Watford.

The only other injury concern ahead of the trip is former Doncaster player Paul Green.

“Scott Wootton should be back, he is training,” said the boss.

“Tom Lees will hopefully be available and he trained on Thursday as well.

“Paul Green isn’t fit but the rest are looking alright. There are a lot of games coming up in a short space of time and we need to be ready. Each and every player needs to be ready to play.

One player looking to step up his return to action, although he won’t make the trip on Saturday, is United striker Noel Hunt.

“Noel has had a nasty injury. He was trying to play with that early on in the season so we are looking forward to getting him back very soon.”
