Paul Green has been named in the Republic of Ireland starting line-up for Tuesday's game in Austria.

Republic manager Giovanni Trapattoni has confirmed that the midfielder will start the game in place of the injured Glenn Whelan.

Green was an unused sub when Ireland went down to Sweden on Friday and they now face a must-win clash in Austria if they are to keep alive their faint hopes of qualifying for next summer's World Cup.
