MARCELO BIELSA: WE DESERVED TO WIN THE GAME

Head coach on Blackburn Rovers win.

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media following the Boxing Day victory against Blackburn Rovers.

Leeds came from behind in the Sky Bet Championship, as Kemar Roofe scored two injury time goals to secure all three points.

The win was Leeds’ seventh on the bounce and Bielsa believes the result was justified.

“We deserved to win the game, but maybe in another manner,” said Bielsa.

“In the first half it was clear that we deserved to win by a difference of more than two goals and in the second half we deserved to win the game, but we could have lost it.

“After the first half we didn’t imagine the end of the second half would be like it was.

“The outcome was different to what we built during the game.

“Winning the game as we won it today, we need to analyse it, but we couldn’t say it was unfair to win the game, because during it we did everything we needed to in order to win it.

“We needed to have more impact in the first half and in the second half, we didn’t defend as well as in the first half.

“The feeling of danger in our goal was higher in the second half than in the first half.

Bielsa also spoke about the noise generated at Elland Road when Roofe’s winner went in.

He said: “It was moving for all of us.

“In football you can have emotions which can reach high levels and that is why nothing is comparable to football regarding emotions.”
