An exciting job opportunity has arisen at Leeds United FC for a Sous Chef in our Kitchens based at our stunning Elland Road Stadium.

The ideal candidate would be responsible for supporting the Executive Head Chef to manage the smooth and efficient operation of the Kitchen, providing high quality food for customers, clients and fans under pressure and maintain all health and safety aspects. You will have to have the ability to work on your own as well as in a team, set up and close the kitchen, as well as run the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Head Chef. You will also be expected to complete all paperwork including ordering and have good stock control management
Some of the main duties would include:
To support the Head Chef in all areas of the kitchen operations and kitchen management
To be able to produce quality food under pressure and maintain all health and safety aspects.
Following the guidance of the executive chef and have input in new ways of presentation or dishes
Preparing and creating new menus and dishes
Working quickly and accurately during busy periods, such as weekends and evenings
Resourcefully solving any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
Completing all relevant food hygiene, HACCP and delivery documentation
Clean and maintain kitchen and dining areas daily
Undertake a monthly “deep clean” of kitchen & dining areas
Responsible, smart, and energetic to work as part of a team or alone.
Maintaining a positive and professional approach with staff, customer and client at all times.
To ensure that all systems and procedures in the Health and Safety manuals are maintained at all times.
To be accountable to the planning and delivery of the catering for matchday boxes, special guests, meetings and events e.g., Christmas, Tribute Nights etc.
Enforcing strict health and hygiene standards
Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager
Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures
The ideal candidate will also have:
Knowledge and experience of working in a fast paced kitchen environment
Knowledge of food, ingredients and kitchen food safety requirements
A catering and hospitality qualification
Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3
Experience working as a chef
Experience within an organisation where large numbers for catering are required including various food services
