Leeds United, along with the Premier League and all other clubs, will reiterate their commitment to tackling discrimination and highlight the importance of diversity in football this weekend, with all fixtures between 18th to 20th April dedicated to No Room For Racism (NRFR).
At Leeds United, we are devoted to fostering inclusivity for all, and for this round of fixtures, the league are focusing on the severity of racism and the consequences that are in place for offenders. The Premier League and all clubs are appalled that players continue to face discriminatory abuse, and we will continue to do everything in our power to stop it, wherever it happens.
Abusers could face custodial sentences, football banning orders, criminal records, fines, community orders or police-mandated educational programmes. Since 2021, more than 4,000 cases have been investigated by the Premier League, with legal action brought against abusers across three continents.
We urge anyone who witnesses racist abuse to report it. At a match, find the nearest steward or police officer, or text LEEDS to 60006. You can also report directly to the Premier League at premierleague.com/reportracism.
On Thursday 23rd April, the Premier League will also promote a five-year update on its NRFR Action Plan, which was launched in 2021 to set out commitments and targets to improve diversity across the game and tackle discrimination.
This falls across the following core pillars: action against racism, enhancing executive pathways, developing coaching pathways, improving player pathways, community support, and embedding equality.
Leeds United are proud to support the No Room For Racism campaign once more, and reiterate that there is No Room For Racism in football, or in life. To learn more about NRFR, head to premierleague.com/noroomforracism.
